  • Ch-ch-ch-changes

    Seems like everything around here is in flux--in a good way. We're finally shifting from spring to summer and enjoying our yard and slip-n-slide.  (Yes, you Houston people, summer really starts in June around here!) We have (easily and happily!) made the shift from homeschooling to summer break. (And we're all grateful for that, even though I'm already putting a lot of time and mental energy into thinking and planning about our next year of homeschooling.) My health is changing for the better. I recently undertook a seven-day raw foods detox, and it was fabulous! I'm still eating a large amount of raw foods (I plan to eat a raw breakfast, green smoothie, and large salad every day--basically just eating one cooked meal per day). I'm running more consistently and doing yoga twice a week. (I LOOOOOOVE my teacher). So I'm  *finally* getting in shape after baby # 4 and I'm feeling really good. I may even do this in the fall (the half, not the whole)!

    The one thing that remains steady, though, is that our pup Zuri just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger. She's already 50 pounds at 7 months of age--she'll probably put on another 30 pounds in the next year!

    What's going on with you?

    Hi there!  Yoga, running, and raw food?  Yea! for you.  I'm not being very disciplined these past few weeks but I hope to get back in shape soon.  End of school was busy and now I'm in the first full week of summer school.  I'm teaching first and second graders and there are no grades!  All I'm supposed to do is get them excited about reading.  Those were the directives.  Dream job.

    Thanks much for the surprise.  I have already read two of the Mothering magazines.  I LOVE them!  And thanks for the necklace.  I've been secretly wanting one for a few months now.
    Little girl did not work out.  Long, crazy story but not too surprising since we are talking about CPS.  There is another baby that we are going to submit our study for.  We'll have to jump through all the hoops and we might not make the cut but it's good to be moving on from the the most recent heartbreak.

    But I'm glad you liked your care package. One day soon you'll get to use all those goodies! {{{hugs}}}
