  • Happy Fathers Day!

Last year, per Dave's request, we started a new tradition: taking family portraits on Father's Day. That's all he wants, he says. (But of course, he got more--this year it was a Jetboil backpacking stove and of course breakfast out at Turley's in Boulder.) Here are the results of this year's adventure (which was complicated at every turn by a squirming toddler! Oy!):

  • Ch-ch-ch-changes

Seems like everything around here is in flux--in a good way. We're finally shifting from spring to summer and enjoying our yard and slip-n-slide.  (Yes, you Houston people, summer really starts in June around here!) We have (easily and happily!) made the shift from homeschooling to summer break. (And we're all grateful for that, even though I'm already putting a lot of time and mental energy into thinking and planning about our next year of homeschooling.) My health is changing for the better. I recently undertook a seven-day raw foods detox, and it was fabulous! I'm still eating a large amount of raw foods (I plan to eat a raw breakfast, green smoothie, and large salad every day--basically just eating one cooked meal per day). I'm running more consistently and doing yoga twice a week. (I LOOOOOOVE my teacher). So I'm  *finally* getting in shape after baby # 4 and I'm feeling really good. I may even do this in the fall (the half, not the whole)!

The one thing that remains steady, though, is that our pup Zuri just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger. She's already 50 pounds at 7 months of age--she'll probably put on another 30 pounds in the next year!

    What's going on with you?

  • From True Blue to seeing red

I was severely disappointed with my Levenger True Writer pen in True Blue. True it was not! It skipped horribly--almost every downstroke! I returned it, and the replacement pen had the same problem. So finally I gave up and sent it back for a refund. I felt blue indeed.

    Then I found this:

The Waterman Hemisphere in Comet Red

It arrived today and it writes like a dream! Mama's not blue anymore!

  • A photo log

Many folks I know (myself included) must have been hit by the winter blogging blahs. So instead of words, here are a few pics to show you what's been going on in our lives:

Some of the cutest and sweetest boys ever:
